Coronation Street alum Lucy-Jo Hudson is engaged.
The 42-year-old actress - who played Katy Harris in the ITV soap from 2002 until 2005 - broke down in tears as she had "no idea" actor Lewis Devine, her partner of eight years, planned to pop the question "for months".
In shots posted to Instagram on Wednesday (29.04.26), she flashed her sparkly diamond ring in a mirror selfie, and Lucy shared a shot of herself and Lewis beaming with happiness following the proposal during a romantic getaway to the breathtaking Lake District.
Lucy's lengthy caption read: "I’m still on cloud 9. 8 years, our blended family, and a moment I never saw coming. Lew has had this planned for months... and I had no idea….
"He took me back to the Lakes, where some of our first memories began. We spent the day reminiscing, just us, walking through the most beautiful quiet gardens with no one else around.
"We talked about our kids, our future, how far we’ve come and then Lew just held me tight, telling me about how much he loves our kids, and how he can’t imagine doing life without me... and then suddenly, he was on one knee."
The Casualty star said "YES before he’d even finished asking me".
Lucy continued: "No big audience, no big show, just us, and a quiet, perfect moment that meant everything. After all our ups and downs, we’ve come out stronger, and now we get forever.
"I’m still on cloud 9 - and I can’t stop looking at my stunning ring, and the man who gave it to me.
"Thank you for choosing us, always. I love you baby @lewisdevineofficial. And I can’t wait to marry you."
Their celebrity pals flocked to the post's comments section to congratulate Lewis and Lucy-Jo - who has Sienna, 12, with her 43-year-old ex-husband, Coronation Street co-star Alan Halsall.
Lucy's ITV soap colleague Michelle Keegan, 38, penned: "Awwwww gorgeous news!!! So so happy for you both! Congratulations darling xx. (sic)"
Ex-Hollyoaks actress Nikki Sanderson, 42, typed: "Congratulations. So happy for you both xxxx (sic)"
And Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, 55, wrote: "Omg. This is brilliant so very happy for you both angel xxx (sic)"
In 2018, soap fans were shocked to hear that Lucy-Jo and Alan Halsall - who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street - split after nine years of marriage.
That year, The Sun reported that Lucy-Jo had struck up a romance with Lewis, her co-star in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs panto.
He played the titular character's best friend, Muddles, during its run at the Theatre Royal in St. Helens, Merseyside, in 2017.
