1. I used to choreograph and teach Wedding Dances

I have taught well over 40+ couples their first dance for their weddings or special occasions. I love choreographing a couples dance to their chosen music and teaching them both their positions and the dance. Teaching people to dance for their special day really makes me so happy, such an honour to do and yes I’ve even been invited to a few of my couples weddings!

2. I’ve moved cities and countries countless times shaping my view of the world

I’ve lived in Indonesia, France, Spain and the UK and visited lots of other countries. Growing up and living across multiple countries taught me how differently people live and I love it.

3. I Speak Three Languages

Living in so many countries mean I have learnt a few languages over the years. My mother tongue is actually Spanish as my parents are originally from Chile. I learnt English and French along the way. I did used to speak Indonesian but back in the UK I had no one to talk with in the 80s who knew the language so I lost that. I bet it is still somewhere in the back of my mind though!

4. My Body is dramatic and I am in constant pain but it wasn’t until my 40s I realised that it was all due to rare condition and I Wrote a Book About It

Living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a connective tissue disorder means chronic pain, unreliable joints and fatigue. It is a full time job to manage as there is no cure. And it shaped my whole life and personality without me realising until my diagnosis in my early 40s. I even wrote a book about it all, pain might be a constant house mate but I realised to fully be me, I had to face my fears and get serious about getting to know my pain!

5. I Love Colour

Colour makes me so happy. I love vibrant, warm, poppy colours and I love to dress colourfully as well as make my house very colourful. It also helps with my vision issues as painting walls prominent colours helps me with depth perception! My fave colours are neon pink and lime yellow - maybe a nod to my 80s childhood?!

6. I Have a Permanent Brace behind my top front teeth

I had braces as a teen and at the age of 17 had a permanent brace fitted behind my top front teeth because my “teeth keep moving.” I did have a retainer but that got lost in one of the many house moves along the way.

7. I Used to Dance On Stage

I have danced in front of audiences since I was little and while I have never really wanted to be a pro dancer, I have danced on local stages well into my 40s. Tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre and more, dance has always been a way for me to move my body. These days, due to pain and some knee issues, I tend to be a kitchen disco dancer!
